Alfa Romeo Racing Giulia and Stelvio prices and specs revealed

F1-inspired Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio versions cost from £89,500 and £96,500 respectively

Full details of the limited-edition ‘Alfa Romeo Racing’ models have been revealed. Both the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models are available as this special new model, with prices starting from £89,500 for the Giulia and £96,500 for the Stelvio. Alfa Romeo revealed the cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and orders are open now.

Prospective buyers will have to be quick to register their interest, however, as just 10 Giulias and three Stelvios have been allocated to the UK. The 2.9-litre V6 engine fitted in both cars has been tweaked to produce an extra 10bhp over the standard 503bhp Quadrifoglios, with an Akrapovič exhaust system enhancing the already impressive soundtrack. Acceleration times are unchanged, so the Giulia and Stelvio hit 0-62mph in 3.8 and 3.9 seconds respectively.

Best-value nearly new cars to buy in 2019

The Alfa Romeo Racing editions back the extra power up with eye-catching styling packs for the Quadrifoglio models. The most noticeable change is the new livery, which is inspired by the company’s F1 cars. It’s a Trofeo White base with distinctive Competizione Red elements across the bonnet, roof and boot lid, with a large Alfa Romeo badge on the bonnet. Both cars also feature carbon-ceramic brakes with red brake calipers, carbon-fibre wing mirror caps, new side skirts and that Akrapovič titanium exhaust. The Giulia features an exposed carbon-fibre roof and 19-inch alloys, while the Stelvio sits on 20-inch wheels.

The Racing editions are well equipped, too, offering tinted windows, adaptive cruise control, a Harman Kardon premium audio package, and an 8.8-inch touchscreen with sat nav, DAB radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Alfa Romeo used the 2019 Geneva Motor Show to exhibit several special editions. The Racing editions were joined by a new Ti trim level for the Stelvio and a few upgrades for the ageing Giulietta hatchback. That’s on top of the surprise Tonale SUV, which sits below the Stelvio in size.

Meanwhile, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback soldiers on for another model year with small upgrades designed to keep it competitive. In Veloce spec, the Giulietta gets a slightly sportier look and an increased equipment list. It features new bumpers, yellow Brembo brakes, tinted windows, black 18-inch alloy wheels and black trim pieces. Inside, this is echoed by contrasting yellow stitching and sports seats partly trimmed in Alcantara suede. A new Tech Pack is available, offering a seven-inch Alpine touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HDMI connectivity and a reversing camera.
